The 2018 Diocesan Development Drive's theme is "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it". This is a reminder that we are called to be faithful servants, to proclaim the good news, and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. How is this possible when we are so busy in our daily lives?
Working in the distant parts of Utah or feeding the homeless at the Good Samaritan. Teaching our youth in our Catholic schools or walking the halls on the Capitol to work for real change. Some of us have time to do this, and God bless those who can. For many of us, there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything we need to do and do all this as well.
The Diocesan Development Drive, or "DDD", is the mechanism through which the Diocese can step in and provide help and assistance to our mission parishes, our Youth and Hispanic Ministries, our Seminarian and Deaconate programs, and so much more. Funds donated to the DDD are "restricted" and this means that they can only be used to support services, not overhead or administrative costs. Every penny you donate to the DDD provides an opportunity to help someone hear the good news, to have a hot meal, sleep indoors, foster a vocation or promote social justice in our government. To learn more about the DDD and to read a message from Bishop Oscar Solis, please click here.
This year, our goal is $120,000. We have over 1,700 registered families in the parish. Our goal this year is 100% participation in our annual DDD. No donation is too small. Every donation helps us reach our goal.
To make a pledge or to donate one time on line, please click here. On line pledges expire on December 31st each year and must be renewed for the new year. You can also find DDD pledge and donation envelopes in the pews. If you have questions, please call Ruth Penderghast at (801) 984-7111.
Thank you for prayerfully considering a donation to the DDD, on behalf of Saint John the Baptist.
