Welcome to our Sunday Sanctuary Make Up Lesson for Week 2.4
You will need a few things for this weeks lesson. Please gather the following from your house:
- blank piece of paper
- envelope
- pencil or pen
- Student's bible
- Hula Hoop if you have one (no need to buy one if you do not)
And print the following worksheets (see below):
- print the "2024 10 20 FHC Abraham Worksheet" below
- print the "2024 10 20 FHC Covenant Worksheet" below
To complete the lesson follow these directions:
- If you didn't attend mass on Sunday, October 20, be sure to watch mass below. Have your student write in their mass journal. It is a wonderful homily that talks about how we all can serve and love others through our prayers.
- Watch the lesson video starting at 1:40. After the prayer, follow along and do the activity that is described. You will be instructed to write your students first and last name and small group number (if you know it) on the envelope. Then you will be asked to write a quick love letter to your student. The love letter can look like bullet points listing all the things you love about your student. What are they good at? What are their gifts and talents and personal quirks that make them special? DO NOT SHOW YOUR STUDENT! When you are done writing the letter, fold it up and put it in the envelop. We need you to bring do 1 of the following: (1) bring us the letter in the envelope OR (2) email us a copy of the letter (a legible picture will work). This is very important. We will be giving the letters back to the students at a future Sanctuary Lesson. We want to be sure your student has a letter to receive. If you choose the email option, email the letter to [email protected] and be sure to put your child's first and last name in the subject line.
- Continue watching and following along with the video. Take a look at the picture of the white board below to see what was written on the board. You will need your Abraham Worksheet first.
- At time 28:55 we will be doing an activity. If you have a hula hoop in your house, you can do the activity too. Enlist other members of the family so you can create a circle. Everyone stand in a circle and hold hands. Put the hula hoop around 1 person's arm (be sure they hold hands again). Have everyone move the hula hoop around the circle without letting go of hands. The point we are getting across is that God's love is never ending just like a circle is.
- Continue watching the video. At time 35:00, you will need the second worksheet, Covenant worksheet. Work with your student to fill out the missing blanks using the word bank. An answer key is below if you should need it.
